Damned

Mark 16:15- And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
“Damned” in this verse is a future, passive, indicative verb that means: To be actually under sentence after a determination of guilt and the pronouncement of the sentence.
Jesus was speaking of the future state of unbelievers. They will be passive in this action, because all the authority and power rests with God. They would resist Him if they could. “Indicative” means the unqualified assertion of fact. Jesus had no question of the future state of unbelievers. God will place them “under sentence” by force.
Hope for the damned before the sentence is executed is found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Gospel is the account of what Jesus Christ did in His life, death, burial, and resurrection for sinners. Those who believe are freed from this damnation. Faith in the present by any sinner will stop damnation by God in the future. Have you trusted Jesus?
